Tesla and CO Springs

I heard about Tesla having a lab in Colorado Springs back in 1899.

And... it was real!

A documentary mentioned a commemorative plaque in Memorial Park

One day when nearby, I got my own pics of this.

During some experiments, Tesla overloaded the power station causing a black-out.

In the background of this picture, behind the war memorial, you can see a brick smoke-stack.  

That is part of the present power station.  

I imagine the old one was in the same location.

Pretty wild.
